Spokane >Cyrus O'leary's
This place is wildly popular. The night we were there it was packed and very noisy.
Service was good for how busy they were. Food came out fast and the server was attentive and nice.
The food was OK. In our group people ordered a burger, the french dip, and a gardenburger. They were all good, the french dip being the best liked at our table, but overall the food was nothing to knock your socks off.
We heard they were famous for pie so we all had some. Again, it was fine, but no one was clamoring for more.
I'd recommend this place for lunch if you are into things like Red Robin and TGI Friday's.
Good food until it was splattered on us.
After reading reviews here, this looked like the place for a romantic dinner. We were seated quickly, but it was 10 minutes before a waiter showed up. We knew what we wanted, so I ordered for us, drinks, entrees, & dessert. Our waiter came back after a few minutes to ask again what 1st course we’d ordered. The soup was good, the salad boring, & the ranch dressing tasted more like bleu cheese. Before we finished our 1st course, our entrees came. They were really great.
Then I heard a crash & we were splattered with sauce which landed in our hair & food, on the table, our arms, clothing, & even on the window.
I saw 1 of the waitresses laughing at what she had done. I called our waiter & told him what had happened, he told us just a minute & walked off.
After SEVERAL minutes, the other waitress came over & with a chuckle in her voice, sort of apologized. I pointed out the splatters on the window, she said, "That really went far, didn't it?” I told her we were done & we wanted to leave.
Our waiter came with our boxed desserts & a bill for $50. Can you believe it? He took the desserts off the bill, but being splattered with food is not worth $50
Before we left she returned to offer us a coupon for a free appetizer, but we are from out of town & wouldn't use it. Even if we come back to Spokane, this is the last place we would choose to eat. We then took our boxed food & walked toward the exit.
When we got to the door, the hostess asked us if we enjoyed our meal. We told her we did until we had sauce splattered on us. She, at least, seemed upset & asked us if we would like to fill in a customer comment card, considering that we were pissed & wanted to leave, I declined. However, we did take one with us & will send it in.
In summary, the food was good, the service was mediocre, & the staff apologies suck. Anytime a customer has their service ruined, we expect a manager to show up & immediately take care of the problem. This was NEVER done. So much for our romantic evening.
Oh so good!. Great burgers and such variety. There are several burgers as well as a create your own burger. There's great pie and a wonderful fried ice cream dessert.
happy hour. can't beat the happy hour at Cyrus'!!! Sometimes during sports events they have free wings and veggies, and a cheap happy hour every evening!!!
This Place is Great!. The help is in costume, they have electric trains running around the bar, there's the nose of an early 60's Cadillac over the inside of the door, and every square inch of the walls and ceiling are covered in everything from vinatge toys to signs to airplane propellers. The drinks keep coming-and you may very well need them to soak it all in. It doesn't hurt their cause any that the food is likewise excellent, but it is the atmosphere effectively takes most of the sting out of the check. -Chuck
