Truth lies in between.... I read the other reviews of this restaurant and was struck by how differing the opinions were, so I decided to check it out for myself. The atomosphere was not quite as romantic as described, somewhat dark and loud. The service was prompt and courteous, despite what the 2 very negatives reviews said. The food was pretty good, but my husband's cioppino was full of pieces of mussel shell and the bread seemed like it was from the grocery store. Overall, it was just OK. I'm pretty sure the 2 postive reviews were written by the owners of the place (look carefully at the names), draw your own conclusions.

Bad Reviews? bs. Two of the reviews below are fulls of lies and complete slander to one of Spokane's best restaurants. Terrible Service 11/17/2008 Posted by jaakic was posted by a raging man hater who needs a husband to tell her when to shut the f up. No man could ever get away with this. Atleast not with a straight nose! Ladies, if you hate men, stay home and get fat. Don't waste your time talking garbage. F you.

As for the girl server who didn't care about you. Bstoo. F you all you f-ing haters.

Spokane's Best. What a beautiful, historic old world Italian feel. Service was exceptional. We were greated by the owner and then served by the other owner...his lovely wife. You can tell how much passion they have. Every member of the staff was extremely helpful and hard working. The food was unbelievable. I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the surf and turf. Both were exceptional. This was truly the best meal and overall experience we have had in a restaurant since...well maybe ever! The Italian Kitchen is a must visit. They deserve their reputation.

Terrible Service. A group of us went out for dinner while in Spokane, we walked into the restaurant ready to have a great time. After we had been seated for a few minutes our waiter appeared to tell us he would be right with us. When he returned we asked him his name and he was very abrupt with us and asked if we would like another server. We felt that we should give him a chance and not switch. What a mistake. I never did get my drink that I ordered, one of the people with us waited for at least 10 minutes for her food after everyone else already had theirs. Not once during this time did the waiter come to tell us that he was waiting or say sorry for the delay. Some of us waited for the last member of our party to get her food before we started to eat so our food was cold and tasted terrible. We told our waiter that we thought this was pretty bad and he walked away to talk to the manager. When the manager came over he too was rude and while he did say sorry he was also very abrupt and simply asked if we had everything we needed now. Not one of us ate more than half of our meals (I had two bites and another member of our party had one of her ravioli) because our food was cold and we were so put off by the rudeness of the waiter. When we were leaving the manager had the phone in his hand but was not speaking, we are pretty sure this was to ensure we didn't try to talk to him about our experience. I likely will not be back in Spokane any time soon so I certainly was not looking for any sort of compensation from the restaurant but perhaps an acknowlegement that the treatment we were given was unaceptable would have made the entire evening a little less disappointing for us.

Horrible resturant.. Oneof the worst meals I've ever had. was taken there for my birthday, and was extremely disappointed with the service and the food. My friend and I were the only ones in the resturant and we still had to flag our waitress for everything, including all the things she forgot . Won't go there again and don't recommend it to my friends.
