Gone downhill.. It was a good place to eat. Now the quality of the food has gone down. The food has taken much longer to get. There are also too many flies.

Best Ribs In Town. Tending the Pits Since '56. That's their motto, and I'm here to tell you they do a great job of it. Two locations....best ribs ever....the beans are truly the magical fruit and the Longhorn Special with beef is the best. Best way to order is dry with sauce on the side. That way you get the freshest roast. Add beans and onion rings and you've got the Longhorn's best. Great place to pick up food for the weekend at the lake. That way Mom gets out of the kitchen

Best BBQ west of Texas, except for mine. When I lived in Spokane, the Longhorn was a major treat for my 6 year old son and me. When we moved to Alaska when he was 7, one of the things he pined for was their brisket, so I had to learn to do it at home on a grill; I finally perfected it. Every time we go back, that's the first stop. You can smell the smoke long before you can see the restaurant and it makes your mouth water. This is absolutely, bar none, the best place to eat BBQ, true, west Texas, dry rubbed, slow and low, tender, juicy, finger lickin', hot damn it's good stuff! Dab a little sauce behind your ears and you'll be beating folks off with a stick! It's so good our local grocery stores in Juneau started carrying it about 15 years ago because so many Spokane transplants asked for it.

Mmmm! Finger Licking Good!. This is a Spokane institution! The Lenhart Brothers started tendin the pits in the 50s. They brought a Texas style barbeque to the West Plains that has been drawing crowds for years. I could drink the barbeque sauce as a cocktail. The original facility on the West Plains is a step back in time. Not recomended for vegetarians! We are talking the finest beef brisket sandwich north of San Antonio!
