Like a storm and Alter Bridge Concert

by Bluekaratefrog

Alter Bridge kicked butt, the problem is with the staff at the Knitting Factory. They were the ruddest bunch. They denied me a place to take my medication and would not let me back in, then was laughed at by their staff. I hope they didn't push the guy in the wheelchair down a hill and laugh at him. Way too many people. Packed like sardines. Never going there again.

Worth the trip from Montana

by KurtisLives

I had to jump in here and stick up for this place after reading so many negative reviews and then going to see a hometown show for Myles Kennedy and his band Alter Bridge. First off, you won't see me complaining about spending a mere 25 bucks to see one of my favorite bands. Many of the complaints about the Knitting Factory are that it's crowded and there is limited seating for the old farts upstairs. Well, I can't think of a single show I've been to where I even wanted to sit down, nor can I think of a show where the fans weren't packed against the stage anyway... even if there was an entire field behind them to stand in. Being over 21 gives you the freedom to move upstairs or down, the drinks come quickly if you choose the right time to go after them and I've never been to a public event where they didn't molest you on beer prices, so don't take it personally. As long as you show up with a little buzz you won't need to stand in much of a line or feel the need to leave...which, I've read, you can't do and expect to get back in. Even between sets in a packed house the restroom breaks cycle pretty quickly. Admittedly, reading the other reviews prepared me for a small venue which you're not allowed to dick off in and that's good information to show up with. My only problems involved the people behind me who were vertically challanged (the spectators, not the staff) and immediately rude. It was the staff who urged me to find a place to be unobstructive to others and if they were at all short with me about doing so I imagine it comes from having to deal with the handful of whiny patrons complaining about their petty issues (the ones who get on here to write scathing reviews). As far as the show goes, it was louder than you need it to be (perfect) and, thankfully, Myles' incredible range and lyrics could be heard and not drowned out by the rumble of rock and roll surrounding him. So what I'm trying to say is; as long as you're going to see a good/great band and you're a fan who's there to see the type of music that gets you on your feet (and are under 6'-3") you really should have no problem enjoying this place as much as my friends and I did. Can't wait for another reason to come back.

Only in Spokane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by hordakgrind

Only in Spokane can a live music venue get away with such a horrible live music experience. They have recently closed off the smoking area and do not allow people to go outside. The bar area is over crowded and the bartenders pour small portions at expensive prices. The stage sound is unbalanced and random feedback happens throughout the performances. I have seen at least thirty shows here and the experience has progressively gotten worse. I have tickets for one more show and do not plan on going back, I would rather drive to Seattle or Portland.

WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pros: Only place in Spokane for large shows
  • Cons: Only place in Spokane for large shows

Not a good place to see a band

I bought tickets for a concert there, only to arrive and find out it's stand up only, with just a handful of bar stools along the upstairs railing for early birds to sit on. My diabetic girlfriend cannot stand for long periods of time, and the sold out crowd of 1500 people were still filing into an already full house when we left. NO WHERE on TKF's website (or Ticket Master's) does it mention this is a standing only venue. We were very disappointed and will never go back

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: standing only venue

Rudest Staff EVER!!

by tamrose

I attended this venue for a bluegrass concert a few weeks ago and had an awful experiences there. I have never encountered such rude staff in my life! The space and layout is great it's just the staff's attitude that needs adjustments, or major overhauls. This experience really makes me question private security in general, as cops wouldn't even be able to get away with how they deal with problems here. For example, my hand was smashed in a gate as I tried to re-enter the venue after the show to close my bar tab, and once the bleeding began they repaired it with paper towels and masking tape. You would think with all of the walky talkies attached to the "security ambassadors" belts that they would be able to find an actual first aid kit. The bar staff moved my bag and when asked where they may have placed it, acted like I was accusing them of stealing. They stole my boyfriend's water bottle on the OUT of the venue at the end of the night. Not to mention that beers cost $7 and it is really frowned upon to dance in the bar area, as you might be blocking the view of other (also rude) patrons. Despite the good music, this experience goes into the worst catagory (of the roughly 200 shows I've attended).

Please avoid this venue at all costs. There are much better places to see a show,

  • Pros: nice dance floor
  • Cons: rude service, can't bring drinks to the dance floor
